Fossils

We were lucky to have had an opportunity to view some precious fossils and crystals.

We were able to look and hold:

a megalodon tooth,

spinosaurus teeth,

a bull shark fossil,

fossilised wood,

coprolite,

kauri gum,

limestone ammonites,

orthoceras fossil

and lapasi lazuli.

We made observations through sketching, then we described the find using our senses and through the use of similes. This descriptive writing exercise encouraged children to show not tell. This will make our recount writing this term so much richer.
